Just took this out of the box and put it together. It looks like it’s good quality and I’m looking forward to making some dough and testing it out tomorrow!
There are a couple things that could be better: The two handle pieces arrived with some scratches on them already. Not a big deal to me but mildly annoying. It’s great to have the option of an extra long (nearly 4ft) handle or a shorter one; I’ll probably end up using the shorter length. There is a plastic cap to cover the end of the first handle piece if both aren’t in use, but it fits very loosely and definitely will not stay on. Again, not a huge deal, but annoying.
My biggest complaint is that the peel itself is not the size that’s advertised. I ordered this because I want a peel big enough to make 16” NY style pies. The width of the peel is actually only 15.75”, and the useable length of the blade is probably 14.5” max. This means that I’ll still be able to make only 14 - 14.5” pizzas, which I can already do with the beautiful, handmade wooden peel I have.
I’m hoping the steel will cling to the dough less than my wooden peel at least, which should help with keeping my pies consistently round.
