Why Use a Pizza Steel?
Unlike traditional pizza stones, a pizza oven steel absorbs and transfers heat rapidly and evenly, helping you achieve:
- Crispier pizza crusts
- Better browning and caramelization
- Faster recovery between pizzas
- Improved bread baking performance
- Greater durability with no cracking
The 3/8" thickness gives The Mule exceptional heat retention, making it ideal for multiple pizzas, larger cooks, and high-temperature performance.
Care Instructions
Your steel arrives with a sandblasted finish and is ready to season.
- Apply a thin coat of high smoke-point oil before first use
- Heat gradually to build seasoning over time
- Clean with warm water and dry thoroughly
- Avoid soaking or prolonged moisture exposure
- Lightly oil after use to help prevent rust
- Surface will naturally darken and develop a seasoned patina similar to cast iron
Rugged, dependable, and built for serious cooking — The Mule is ready to do the heavy lifting.
